Semaglutide

Semaglutide, week by week — not just a list of dates.

One weekly shot, a one-week half-life, and about a month before a new dose settles. Lumara charts that rhythm from the doses you actually logged.

How it works

Three steps, about two minutes.

Semaglutide is unusual among medications people take at home: it hangs around. Its half-life is roughly a week, which means a dose you took last Sunday is still substantially present next Sunday, and a step up takes about a month to fully arrive. That lag is why the first fortnight on a new dose tells you very little — and why a tracker that only records dates is answering the wrong question.

Estimated levels

Why week three feels different from week one.

With a one-week half-life, each dose lands on top of what is left of the last one until the pattern stops climbing — usually after about four to five weeks on the same step. Lumara charts that accumulation from your own logged doses, so "it has settled" becomes something you can see rather than something you infer.

  • A curve built from the doses you actually logged
  • See at a glance whether you're mid-week steady or nearing your next shot
  • Titration steps show up as visible changes in the curve

A model, not a measurement. This is an approximation from your own dose history — it is not a blood test, carries no clinical units, and is never a recommendation. Only your provider can interpret your actual levels.

Proof, not vibes

Line the month up against the month.

Because semaglutide moves on a monthly timescale, so should the comparison. Lumara puts weight, waist, sleep, HRV and your daily check-ins on the same timeline as your dose steps, so you are comparing a settled month with a settled month instead of a good day with a bad one.

  • Weight and waist trend beside your dose history
  • Side-effect check-ins (1–5) that sit on the same timeline as each shot
  • Plain-language Insights: what changed, never what to take

Everything in the app

One app for the whole
of what you take.

The reminding, the logging, the remembering and the paperwork — in one place, on iPhone and Android.

Hands at a kitchen counter beside an unlabelled vial, a capped syringe and a handwritten notepad.
Lumara's Today screen: five doses today, a due-now card for Vitamin B12 with a slide-to-log control, and the week's dose history with one dose missed on Monday.

Today, and what's due

The day's doses in one list, logged with a slide, and the week behind you — taken, missed and skipped.

Lumara notification settings, with separate switches for dose reminders, refill and inventory alerts, and clinic messages.

Reminders that fire on time

A nudge at the time you set for every dose, plus refill, expiry and lab reminders. Scheduled on the phone, so they arrive with no signal.

A daily check-in in seconds

Rate energy, mood, sleep and side effects on a 1–5 scale and tag any symptoms. Ten seconds a day is what makes a trend.

Weight and symptoms, on a schedule

Log a weigh-in and how you have been feeling, with a daily or weekly reminder to do it. Both land on the same timeline as your doses.

A Lumara progress card: 130 of 154 doses taken in the last 30 days — 84% of the doses that were due — broken into taken, missed and skipped.

Progress, not just a streak

Every dose taken and missed, day by day and medicine by medicine, with your weight and check-in trends over the same weeks.

Vial tracking, circulating-level charts and the provider report are on the paid plans.

Semaglutide: half-life, steady state and the approved schedules

Semaglutide is approved in the United States in more than one presentation and for more than one use, and the dose ladders differ between them. The table reproduces the schedules from the FDA labels — treat it as orientation, not as your plan. The pharmacology underneath is the same in every case: a half-life of about one week, a steady pattern after roughly four to five weeks on a given dose, and around five weeks to clear after a final dose.

What people usually find worth tracking

  • Nausea and appetite, day by day rather than "generally fine"
  • Vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation, and how they sit relative to a dose day
  • Fatigue and sleep in the 48 hours after a shot
  • Injection-site soreness, and which site it followed
  • Weight and waist on the same cadence you already weigh yourself

Lumara records what you enter and shows it beside your dose history. It does not assess symptoms, and it never advises. Anything new, severe or persistent is a conversation with your provider — not with an app.

Questions

Good to know.

Roughly four to five weeks on the same dose, given a half-life of about one week. Every step up restarts that, which is why the approved ladders space their steps about four weeks apart.

Log it on the day you actually took it — that is what the curve and your adherence are built from. If you moved your dose day, log it where it really happened rather than tidying it up; a corrected history is more useful than a neat one.

Yes, and the levels curve behaves identically because it is built from your dose history and the molecule's published half-life. If yours comes in a vial, the reconstitution calculator and the vial vault handle the units and the beyond-use date as well.

Nothing is overwritten. Dose changes are recorded as new entries, so your old steps stay readable and the levels curve shows the step as a visible change rather than a discontinuity.

Yes, if your watch writes them to Apple Health or Health Connect. Lumara reads sleep, HRV, resting heart rate and weight and lines them up against your dose days. Insights describe what changed — they never tell you what to take.
